plot: to place on a graph

horizontal axis: horizontal number line

origin: (0,0)

vertical axis: vertical number line

x-axis: horizontal axis

y-axis: vertical axis

graph of the ordered pair:(3,2)

coordinates: 3 and 2

x- coordinate or abcissa: 3

y-coordinate or ordinate: 2

coordinates axes: x and y axes

coordinate planes: number plane

quadrants: 4 number planes

graph of equation: x+2y=6 (0,3) (4,1)

linear equation: graph version of graph of equation
so heres my four linear problems

13. y=6-2x

14. y=7-5x

15. 2y=8-3x

16. 5y=10-2x

1200$ 1) Your rent plus utilities (gas, water, internet, phone, etc.) is $540 a month! What percentage of your monthly income is this?2) You spend about 6% of your income per month on your cell phone bill! What amount is this?3) You usually spend around $200 per month on groceries. Find this percentage.4) You spend about $40 per week on gas filling your car's gas tank! What percentage of your monthly income is spent on gas?
5) You like to use the remaining money and split it - using 60% on entertainment (movies, shopping, etc.) and putting the other 40% in savings. About how much money is spent on entertainment and how much is put in savings?
This should be a post on your blog. When you finish, move onto Study Island. :)

so I want to be a design engineer because I like making stuff. so if I had 1200 dollars and loss 540, it leave me with 660 dollars! then I loss 6% which leaves me with 621.60. thenI would loss 200 dollars leaving me with421.60. then I would have 381.60. then you split it and get 232.20 for entertainment and 149.40

So, how many of you dream of the first car you will own? Well, in this assignment, let's pretend that you just graduated from college and your super-generous parents are going to buy you WHATEVER car you want! However, you have to pay for gas with hard earned money you will be making in your first job :) In this 15 point assignment due THIS Wednesday October 8, your job will be to figure out the following:1) What car will you buy and why?2) Google your car, go the car's website, then find out:a) How many gallons does your gas tank hold? b) How many miles do you get per gallon (mpg)? 3)Now you can figure out how much will it cost you to fill your tank. Use the link below to find local gas prices.

My dream car is the mazda mx-5 because of its sleek design and its easy handling. It holds 12 gallons and gets 28 mpg or it can be eletric. gas would the cost $47.04 because gas cost $3.92 here.

1) Check out this article:http://www.bts.gov/publications/omnistats/volume_03_issue_04/html/entire.html2) Let's say you are an "average" American based on that article. How many total miles are spent driving to work in one week (remember you drive TO and FROM work each day)?3) Now, if you are like a typical American, you are doing more driving than just to work and back. In an average week, I drive around 350 miles per week! Use this equation, 350/mpg x P = T (mpg = whatever your car's mpg is, P = local gas price, T = total cost) to find out how much you will spend on gas in one week. Bonus - could you write an equation to find out how much you spend on gas in one month? And finally, if you didn't originally chose a hybrid car, are you interested in one now??!! If so, check this out: http://www.hybridcars.com/ and let me know what you think! ...And kudos to ones who already did! :)

I drive about 30 miles per day so it would be 210 miles per week so Iwould spend about 250 dollars.
